The Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival is an international festival held in the charming village of Ballydehob, located in West Cork. The festival celebrates Maritime and other Folk music, featuring sea songs, shanties, workshops, and craft stalls. Additionally, the festival holds a Song Writing Competition, sponsored by IMRO. The festival also includes a new Maritime play called MERMAID, which portrays a story of alienation and belonging. The play is written by Terri Leiber and presented by Creative Co-op at Levis Corner Bar on June 18 at 8 pm, as well as on June 20 and 21 at 8 pm. The festival will also include music performances in pubs and a Fundraising Concert at Levis Corner House.
